Long ago, mortals worshipped the deities of Olympus, which in turn gave them purpose.  Often the immortals mingled with those who pleased them, taking lovers where they wished, but rarely allowing their lives to be affected by them.

In the modern age, with mortals believing in them less and less, quite a few of the Olympians have withdrawn, ignoring the mortal realm completely. Some live partially among the mortals, but return often to Olympus .  A select few found themselves fascinated with the mortal world, and chose to completely live among mortals, some even finding love.

Finding Justice is the story of a judge who is trying to decide what is the right punishment in a capital case; and Thea, the women whom he meets at the least convenient time in his life.  What he doesn't know is that Thea is actually the Goddess Themis, and she has seen a dire consequence for him, if he allows his emotions to sway him from what he knows is right.  A future that she isn't willing to let come to pass.

Embracing Destiny is Apollo's story.  After helping Thea find happiness, he is reunited with the soul of Daphne/Cassandra, two of his lost loves.  He has to come to terms with the changes in her, as well as his rapidly growing attraction to her.

Finding Justice

"The door's locked," she whispered back.

"How did you . . ."

"I heard the lock click."  She moved back, and stood and kicked off her sandals.  Lifting her hands to the neck of her dress, she slowly slid the zipper down.

"Thea, baby, this really isn't the best place."

"I know, but this room is part of who you are.  It's where you're the most tense and where you need to relax the most."  With a flutter, her dress dropped to the floor and she stood clad in only a peach bra and matching panties. His mouth went dry.

Where before he'd guessed at her curves, now he had proof.  While petite, she wasn't dainty by any stretch.  She had a woman's curves; full hips, round breasts and firm thighs that could crush a man between them.

Reaching behind her, she unclasped her bra, letting it fall to the floor.  Jacob stood and gently cupping her breasts in his hands.  He couldn't help wondering if he was insane for doing this, here in a courthouse.  But, at that moment, there was nowhere he'd rather be than in her arms, in this chamber.  The smell of the old tomes had always been soothing, but mixed with the delicate strains of her perfume and her arousal; it was a heady combination.

His body felt less tense, but his heart was racing.  Thea slid against him, her supple little body curling around him, her hands busy removing his clothing before he was even aware of it.

"Make love to me, Jacob."  The sensual plea in her voice was more delicious than any aphrodisiac, and he was powerless to resist.

Lifting her in his arms, he carried her to his desk and sat her on the top.  Her hands continued to pull against his belt while he worked on slipping free of his shoes and socks.

When his belt slipped free, her slender hands worked his button and zipper, and like her dress, his pants whispered to the floor.  Stepping free of them, his quickly unbuttoned his shirt, feeling more like a high school student in the back of his mom's car than a judge, who had sat the bench for a decade.

Embracing Destiny

Crossing the room, to return to him, she took his breath away.  The woman had no ideas what she did to him, with the soft sway of her hips, her legs slightly rubbing with each step.  Aphrodite walked that way, but being the Goddess of love and beauty, she took such things as having men fall at her feet drooling to be a requirement.  Luckily as a God, he was exempt.

Yet Destiny, with her unconscious mimicry of that stride, had him ready to drop to his knees and worship her.

Unable to take any more, he moved toward her and pulled her into his arms, his hands going to the small of her back.  Their lips met halfway, and Apollo groaned at how sweet it was.

Like many of the Gods, he had a reputation for being a hard-case but with Destiny he felt softer.  Not even Daphne had made him feel this way.

As she pressed close, there was no way she couldn't be aware of his state of arousal, but she moved tight against him--almost like she was trying to climb inside of him.

"Make love to me Apollo," she gasped, her lips tracing down his cheek to his neck, where she nipped and kissed as he picked her up in his arms.  Following her directions, mumbled against his skin, he soon found the bedroom.  Laying her gently on the bed, he followed her down and covered her with his body.  Through the open door he could hear the sultry strains of jazz music.

His fingers deft with centuries of practice, he unbuttoned her shirt and pulled it from her slacks.  Her breasts were covered in a simple white bra, with just the barest of lace around the edges.  He found it more seductive than many of the outlandish lingerie he had been tempted with over time.

Between the cups nested the clasp, begging to be undone.  Dipping his head, he pressed kisses along the undersides of her breasts and down alone the curve of her stomach, until she was gasping beneath him.  Destiny reached over him and unclasped her bra, gripped his hair and pulled him up to her.

Themis is the inspiration for the modern lady justice.

Apollo, while known by many as the sun God, is also accredited with helping mankind with the concept of a justice system.

SNIPPET: Jacob and Destiny have always worked for the greater good. Jacob is a judge and Destiny is working towards creating a woman's shelter in town. Although their paths have never crossed, both will find themselves associated when fate steps in. This is their story and the story of the god and goddess that love them and give them their lives back.

REVIEW:

Jacob is a judge faced with a monumental decision. He will have to determine whether the defendant in his courtroom should receive the death penalty for the murders he committed, or if he should give him an extended stay in prison in the hopes that he can rebuild himself. When he is approached by a blind woman named Thea, his world turns even more upside down. Now he has another distraction. However, Thea is a goddess who can see the future. It's her job to help lead Jacob in the right direction so that more people will not die. What Thea didn't expect was to fall in love with Jacob. Could it ever work with a goddess and a mortal?

Destiny wants to give women and children a safe haven to run to if they ever have the need. When she is approached by Thea, Destiny jumps all over the opportunity to get the shelter in motion. Unbeknownst to Destiny, however, Thea has another plan in the works in the form of her fellow god, Apollo. Thea knows these two will hit it off and live happily ever after if she can just convince the two of them. When Apollo and Destiny come fact to face, sparks fly and passions roar. However, Apollo is a god and Destiny's just a mere mortal. Will Apollo give up his life as a god to spend his life with Destiny?

FATED TO BE is a fun and sensual journey of new discoveries about each characters' own selves, friendships and loves. Jacob and Thea are wonderfully drawn together—sweet and sensual. On the other hand, Apollo and Destiny seemed to set the pages on fire. They went from dinner to done (hehe). Each set of characters had a wonderful storyline besides the one that brought them all together. This is definitely a story I would recommend to anyone looking for that warm and fuzzy feeling when they end a book.
